Reflections
First of all....let me tell u guyz...that this is...my 100th blog entry.............yae!.....and so...I thought....y not...put up something special......something that is close to my heart.....something that not many of u must have heard of........and that's when I came across this song....in my iTunes playlist.............
No song can be as special as this one....reminds me of a bygone time....bygone life......bygone someone........
A great track............awesome orchestra..........haunting tune............sweetest voices..........and lyrics that touch the heart of one's soul.
When you listen to this song...you will actually feel a gentle breeze...whispering into your ears.....while it blows through your hair...touching each hair on your body...making them swing n dance to its tune.......Such is the magic and beauty of this song...
One of the lesser known tracks of Rahman...........probably because....the movie didn't boast of big names.....and even worse that the release of the movie got postponed....i guess indefinitly....its still not released ..I guess... :( .....though the music came out 2 years ago....back when I was in 2nd semester...........
So...herez HAWA SUNN HAWA....for all u gentle as well as die-hard lovers (long distance one's especially)!..............this one's for u n ur love!...believe in love n keep loving....  ;)

LYRICS (TRANSLATION)
Woh Kaun Hai, Woh Kahan Hai, Jise Doondh Thi Nigaahen, Woh Kaun Hai
Who's she.....Where's she.....The one.....Whom my eyes are searching for......

Hawa Sun Hawa, Use Chu Ke Aa, Use Chu Ke Aaja Zara
Hawa Sun Hawa, Use Chu Ke Aa, Use Chu Ke Aaja Zara
Oh...scentful breeze...listen to my request....plz...touch her and come back with her scent...
Kahan Hai Woh Ithna Batha
Thus....Just let me know....where she is....

Kaun Hai Yaad Jo Har Pal Aaye,
Who's she....the one...who keeps visiting my memories every moment
Yaad Woh Aaye To, Aake Na Jaaye
Once she comes...in my memories....she doesn't fade away
Kaun Hai Yaad Jo Har Pal Aaye,
Who's he....the one...who keeps visiting my memories every moment
Yaad Woh Aaye To, Aake Na Jaaye
Once he comes...in my memories....he doesn't fade away
Raaz Yeh Dil Ab Kisko Bathaayein
This mystery of the heart...whom shall I tell?
Saamne Hai Woh Nazar Na Aaye
She's there in front of me...but I can't see her
Mujh Ko Kiski Aahaton Ne Hai Chuaa
Whoz speech has touched me?
Kaun Hai Woh Ae Hawa Tu ye Batha
Oh! gentle Breeze....atleast let me know that
Hawa Sun Hawa, Use Chu Ke Aa, Use Chu Ke Aaja Zara
Oh...scentful breeze...listen to my request....plz...touch her and come back with her scent...
Kahan Hai Woh Ithna Batha
Thus....Just let me know....where she is....

Meri Sadaayein, Tujhko Bulaayein,; Samne Aajaao, Aaja Re Aaja Re
My Silence...calls you....plz..appear in front of me....oh! come....
Meri Sadaayein, Tujhko Bulaayein, Samne Aajaao, Aaja Re Aaja Re
My Silence...calls you....plz..appear in front of me....oh! come....
Meri Yeh Baahein Tujh Ko Pukaare Aaj Re, Aaja Re, Aaja
My arms...call you....plz...come...
Meri Yeh Baahein Tujh Ko Pukaare Aaj Re, Aaja Re, Aaja

My arms...call you....plz...come...

Tujhse Miloongi To, Tujhse Kahoongi; Tere Bina Mein Rehna Sakoongi
When I shall meet you....will tell you...I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU
Tujhse Miloonga To, Tujhse Kahoonga,; Tere Bina Mein Rehna Sakoonga
When I shall meet you....will tell you...I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU
Chodo Udasi Kyun Aankhen Nam Hai; Gaur Se Dekho To Nazdeek Hum Hai
Leave this sadness aside....y are ur eyes wet?....look carefully...we are nearer....
Mujhko Kis Aahaton Ne Hai Chua Hoo; Kaun Hai Woh Ye Hawa To Yeh Batha Hoo
Whoz speech has touched me? Oh! gentle Breeze....atleast let me know that

Hawa Sun Hawa, Use Chu Ke Aa, Use Chu Ke Aaja Zara

Oh...scentful breeze...listen to my request....plz...touch her and come back with her scent...
Kahan Hai Woh Ithna Batha

Reflections
I didn't like this song...when I heard it for the first time.....thought it be an average one.....dragging inspiration from Caribbean raggae...kinda....song.....But....that changed....after I watched the movie......WOW!......the song...is the first of the great songs...that followed in this musical love story......
Maybe...it was....Simbu's smarty dance moves....or the beautiful location....where the song was shot.....or maybe it was the camera work................maybe it ws Vijay Prakash's hip-hoppish....voice...or Blaaze's akonish rap.....or it was simply that part...where Simbu.....plies on the telephone reciever....singing...HELLO!.....
Oh God!....it is the mood created by the song.....
While coming out of the multiplex....I was....just mumbling this song.....as I walked my way to IFFCO CHOWK...foreseeing a setting sun....over the Jaipur-Delhi Express Highway...............
A Lovely song......must hear......

By the way...this is what Wikipedia had to say about Hosanna................"Hosanna" is the cry of praise or adoration shouted in recognition of the Messiahship of Jesus on his entry into Jerusalem, Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord![3] It is used in the same way in Christian praise.
Overall, it seems that "Hosanna" is a cry for salvation; while at the same time is a declaration of praise. Therefore, it may be derived that this plea for help is out of an agreeably positive connotation.
The old interpretation "Save, now!" which may be a popular etymology, is based on Psalm 118:25 (Possibly "Savior"). This does not fully explain the occurrence of the word in the Gospels, which has given rise to complex discussions

Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya (MOVIE REVIEW)

Reactions:
On a friday afternoon....I made through the bulging traffic of Jaipur Highway & MG Road.....to reach PVR MGF on time for the 3:25 show.....of the movie...that I wished to see in Kerala 2 weeks ago for just 30 bucks...in some air conditioned movie hall.....unfortunately...the movie released today.....4 days after I made my return.....from God's own country....hmmm....lets talk about this movie now....which one..u ask???....its VINNAITHAANDI VARUVAAYA.....which translates to.....I'll cross the skies for You....

The movie comes from Gautham Menon....the man who made....Minnale....Vaaranam Aayiram....Kaakha Kaakha.....REHNA HAI TERE DIL MEIN.......and like his previous flick.....this time...too....the Hero...is a young jobless mechanical engineer.....who is more creative than technical......and Our dear...SILAMBARASAN.....wants to become a FILMMAKER.....but soon.....he falls for this fairly simple yet complicated Catholic malayalee girl....Jessie (played by Trisha)....and thus...begins....the usual....MENON stuffs....the innocent humour.....plying to lusty blows of passion....some wonderful music....depicting every transition in the tale......although....the music is fairly different frm previous menon flicks....coz of the fact that.....this time....its Rahman who has done the job instead of Harris Jayaraj...so...thats one big...change...in the movie...
And soon..through some ups and downs.....the story shifts places...from CHENNAI to ALLAPUZHA in Kerala.....(as we see in most of his movies).....and then the story...goes topsy turvy,....just like Simbu says in the beginning.......IT AL GOES TOPSY TURVY....WHEN YOU FALL IN LOVE.....
Reclining parents.....confused lovers....and some beautiful moments serenaded by even more melodious songs....
The story is inspired by many different hollywood romantic comedies...and....kinda similar to LOVE AAJ KAL........
Now....the theme of the story....isnt their love.....but the option he has to choose....HIS LOVE FOR HER....OR FOR CINEMA......which by the way.....is lost after the first 15 minutes itself.....and doesn't show up...until the climax........so...the middle part....esp...after the interval is VERY BORING....and draggy ......even the songs.....sound tiring...and JAANE TUish.....esp...the track...VINNAITHAANDI VARUVAAYA.....which is quite....unbearable...towards the end....there were a few needless scenes....which were coupled.....with some songs....
The beginning is quite interesting...and so are the songs....fresh out of Rahman's kitty......Hosanna....was awesome....and so was....Omana Penne.....but...soon...the middle...was unbearable.....and towards the climax....when he decides to make his first movie......about his own love story....is when...things.....take a u turn......and u want to fasten ur seatbelts.........and what happens....in the end...is TWIST.,,,,,the big twist....something....that.....Gautham executed pretty well......and towards...the end....u will be getting out with a smiling face.....that God! I did not waste my 150 bucks on some crap.....coz this movie...is good.....slow...yet beautiful....and there are certain shots...taken in Kerala...that...are way beyond awesome....esp...the song....MANNIPAAYA......the...moon...hovering over the backwaters of Kerala.....wow!.....I miss...HOME...already....
There...is no....BAKWAAS...or slapstick tamil humor...which is quite characteristic of Gautham's movies......THE HUMOUR is mature and innocent.....and the special appearance...of his highness....KS RAVIKUMAR (director of blockbusters like dasavatharam and aadhavan)....as the director under whom karthik (simbu) is associated....and then...his own name is taken a few times..in the beginning....all those typical sarcasm....sounded hilarious....
Let's talk about the performance.....Simbu...was just himself...and did well...he looked great...esp in the first half........Trisha...well...she looked old....and way too older than Simbu (although in the movie shez just one year elder to him)......and her acting has been good.....others......well..I cud only spot Napolean.....the veteran mallu actor......and he did a decent job as trisha's father....rest of the actors.....were....almost unknown faces.......
The camera work...is awesome.....The movie...is 90% tamil.....and 10% in Malayalam...and the subtitling has been very accurate....although trisha's malayalam...was too crude...and impotent...
The question...."THERE ARE SO MANY GIRLS IN THIS WORLD...BUT WHY DID I HAVE TO FALL IN LOVE WITH JESSIE?"...has been used 4 times in the movie....in the beginning....twice by Simbu....once by his CAMERAMAN friend....during the middle....and towards the end....by Trisha....and that dialogue is quite important.....just like the name of the movie....quite apt...and accurate.....the way....they kept meeting intentionally as well as accidently....spanning....boundaries...and even continents.....proves the worth of the title....I WILL CROSS THE SKIES FOR YOU....VINNAITHAANDI VARUVAAYA

My rating - 4 out of 5
Go watch it....

Shreya Ghoshal and AR Rehman
My Rating - 9.1/10

Reflections
Great track.....even though Shreya Ghoshal is the one who sizzles throughout the song....but the highlight of the song.....well....erm....its not the occassional Rehman who plies...but the chorus.....humming along with the warm string orchestrating in the backdrop......
Just a great song.....although...Omana Penne is still better.....yet this song...has its uniqueness too....
GREAT LYRICS......WONDERFUL...

Home (Daughtry)

Reactions:
Well....as I pack my bags....for my trip...down the country...to the place I call home...I would like to leave you with this one song....HOME by Daughtry.....
Its one of those songs...that brings strong emotional tears into my eyes......

excerpts frm wikipedia-

"Home" is a 2007 song by American rock band Daughtry from their self titled debut album. The song had been climbing up the U.S. charts for a few weeks before the song was announced as second single (possibly due to its use on American Idol as the show's "vote off" song).

Chris Daughtry wrote the song on the couch the day before he left for American Idol. The theme of the song centers around the singer being grateful for what he has, but still longing for his family. Therefore, he realizes it is best if he comes home, where he is surrounded by love. He states during the chorus:
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old
So I'm going home
Film composer Deborah Lurie provided the string arrangements used in the song.

Lyrics
"Home"

I'm staring out into the night,
Trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.

Well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
Well I'm going home.

The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.
I've not always been the best man or friend for you.
But your love remains true.
And I don't know why.
You always seem to give me another try.

So I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,

Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don't want.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all, yeah.

Oh, well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old.
I said these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
I'm going home.

What...a song....awesome....while watching the theatrical trailor...of Veer...for the first time...I really didn't care about the proceedings..on the big screen...until...suddenly.....that.....soulful...tune.....ws heard echoing through the almost empty movie hall....hmmm.....the tune played on d piano.....(which is d beginning of this song).....the very tune....dragged my attention towards...the trailor......there arouse a little expectation...from the movie....
must...compliment...Sajid Wajid....for composing such brilliant tune....and then Rahet saab...for his voice rendering...Gulzar saab....well....my compliments r far too less for his talent...

Surili akhiyon wale
O! the one with the melodious eyes
Suna hai teri akhiyon se
Behti hai neendein

Aur neendon mein sapne

Is it true? That your eyes are intoxicating?

Does it induce sleep and thereby trigger dreams?

Kabhi to kinaro pe
Utar mere sapno se
I wait for that moment when you step into my side from my dreams
Aaja zameen pe aur mil ja kahin pe
Come down to this earth...and be found...
Mil ja kahin ..
Be Found
Ohhhoooooooo
Mil ja kahin samey se pareh
Be found....somewhere beyond time
Samey se pareh mil ja kahin
Somewhere beyond.....lemme find you
Listen to what my eyes are telling your eyes
Surili akhiyon wale, suna hai teri akhiyon se
O! the one with the melodious eyes...Is it true?

Jaane tu kahan hai
Don't know...where u r
Udti hawa pe tere pairon ke nishan dekhe
But...saw your footprints...embossed on the flowing breeze
Jaane tu kahan hai
Udti hawa pe tere pairon ke nishan dekhe
Don't know...where u r
But...saw your footprints...embossed on the flowing breeze
Doondha hai zameen pe chaana hai falak pe
Saare aasman dekhe
Had searched the entire world for you....even filtered the skies
The entire Sky...stands witness...
Mil ja kahin samey se pareh

Be found....somewhere beyond time
Samey se pareh mil ja kahin
Somewhere beyond.....lemme find you
Listen to what my eyes are telling your eyes

Everytime I look into your eyes
I see my paradise
The stars are shining right up in the sky
Fainty words of desire
Can this be real
(can this be real)
Are you the one for me
(are you the one for me)
You have captured my mind, my heart, my soul on earth
You are the one waiting for
Everytime I look into your eyes
I see my paradise
Stars are shining right up in the sky
Fainty words of desire

Hoth mein chupke dekh rahe the
Chaand ke peeche, peeche the
Hiding behind the lips....they were watching
Just behind....the moon
Hoth mein chupke dekh rahe the
Chaand ke peeche, peeche the
Hiding behind the lips....they were watching
Just behind....the moon
Saara jahan dekha dekha na aakhon mein
I searched the entire world....but didn't search in the eyes...
Palkon ke neeche the
They...were just under the lashes....

Mil ja kahin samey se pareh
Be found....somewhere beyond time
Samey se pareh mil ja kahin
Somewhere beyond.....lemme find you
Listen to what my eyes are telling your eyes

Surili akhiyon wale, suna hai teri akhiyon se
O! the one with the melodious eyes
O! the one with the melodious eyes

O! the one with the melodious eyes

Reactions:

Omana Penne (Vinnathaandi Varuvaaya) - Lyrics & English Translation

Reactions:

Omana Penne (Darling Girl)

Singers : Benny Dayal, Kalyani Menon | Malayalam Lyrics : Kalyani Menon
My Rating - 9.8/10

Reflections
Whoaaaaa!...........Rahman.....u r impossible!....................no..no....this is no negative remark...rather a remark of FASCINATION......coz...thats what one would feel after listening to this marvel of a ballad!.....OMANA PENNE boasts of vocals from BENNY DAYAL and a lil cameo by KALYANI MENON who has penned down the malayalam part for this song.......Its absolutely....unmissable...even if you don't understand Tamil or Malayalam....forget that fact...go for this track....listen to it once...and you'll automtically listen to it again...your ears will play that track throughout the day....and might even haunt you in your dreams....
Whats more perfect? Rahman's composition....Kalyani's lyrics...or Benny's vocals?...Rahman deserves unprecedented credits....but I don't think stripping off Benny n Kalyani from the credits would be justifiable......coz....the perfect combination of everything is what makes this track work!.....
with that shehnaai....frequenting Benny's musings like a ghost....reminded me of the ending of the track from Delhi-6....REHNA TU...ya....though this track uses such a treasure throughout its length.....which makes it different from all other songs in its genre.....Its got Western backbone...It ain't typical tamil ballad...lil Malayalam folk....on a scale of Carnatic backdrop...and therez no trace whatsoever of Bollywoodish or Punjabi themes!(which unfortunately most of the contemporary Tamil/Mallu tracks depend upon).....Its pure RAHMAN!................I love that malayalam cameo..coz thats the part,,,that I could understand the most... :P....and the other one is when....he says... Unnai..marandhida mudiyathey (Can't forget you)...its simply awesome...felt as if I was witnessing the beauty of Malayali girl whilst the mesmerizing orchards of Palakkad!
Love the track....and you will fall in love too....now I am eager to watch the movie....VINAITHAANDI VARUVAAYA (WILL COME CROSSING THE SKIES FOR YOU)......which is due for release this Valentine's day (most probably)...and thank God....I will be in Kerala at that time....GREAT TIMING!...atleast I can watch that movie.....esp...since its coming from Gautham V Menon...the one who made Vaaranam Ayiram and Minnale (hmm..it ws remade into Hindi too...remember..Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein...yea its the same director).......

Aman Ki Asha (Reflection and Translation in English)

Reactions:
(A wish for peaceful/Secure Nation)
Shankar Mahadevan, Rahet Fateh Ali Khan
Gulzar

"The two leading media houses of India and Pakistan - The Times of India and the Jang Group - have come together to develop a stronger Track 2 in the diplomatic and cultural relations between India and Pakistan. "Aman ki Asha: Destination Peace" looks beyond the confines of a 62-year-old political boundary to the primal bonds that tie together the two peoples."
This is what I got from The Times Of India's online section on Aman ki Asha...........
Now, recently they released the first single from the album.....titled Aman Ki Asha........अमन की आशा....penned down by the legend himself- GULZAR SAAB..........and vocals rendered by Our very Shankar Mahadevan and Rahet Fateh Ali Khan (from across the border....:)....)
The track opens up on the peaceful notations of a piano...or is it a jaltarang?..sorry...I really don't know....but whatever it is......moves you right from the word go! And as the track progresses.....the two singers stimulate you to move your hearts......in a direction pointed by the beak of the flying white pigeon (err I mean....THE SYMBOL OF PEACE).
The track hardly lasts for 2 minutes...and at the end....you really crave for more....but unfortunately....all great things come in small packages....
Its an awesome song.....Rahet strains melodiously in the Sufi/Hindustani style while Shankarji...simply ends his notes in a more Carnatic manner....making this track simply.....UNMISSABLE (and yes that's a word...I consulted a dictionary... :P...)

Lyrics (Translation)

Dikhayi dete hain duur tak ab bhi saaye koi
Still shadows can be seen from this distance, this time
But an era bygone, cannot be harked back in time
O! Let us spread those carpets and beat those drums again
Lagake mehendi sureeley tappe sunayein koi
Let's adorn this land with Henna(Mehendi) and listen to her songs
Patang udayein chhatton pe chadh ke muhalley waaley
As the locals fly kites from their terrace
Falak to saanjha hai us mein penche ladayein koi
The eyes are just strings that are destined to get locked with each other
Utho kabaddi kabbadi khelenge sahardon par
Wake Up!...OPEN YOUR EYES...lets play across the borders
Jo aye abke to laut kar phir na jaye koi
And this time, we shall not let you go back
Nazar mein rehtey ho jab tum nazar nahin aatey
You will be in eyes..when I can't see you
Yeh sur milaatey hain jab tum idhar nahin aatey
These songs are the bridge that connects when you don't come here

Petals (My Photographs)

Reactions:
© 2010 K Hari, KAAMA Vol II.

I still don't believe it when I look at this photo-----THAT I SHOT IT!
Someone on facebook complimented this photo as AWESOME! and to this.,....I could only say one thing....."Such is God's creation.....AWESOME!"
Petals is a very simple work....yet it defines boundaries that I could never transcend previously.....Boundaries..that now I believe.....I can cross......shot with a simple Sony digicam ...and further manipulated using Lightroom and Photoshop...this will remain one of the first of its kinds from my side......and one of my favourites too.......
It all happened yesterday while I was returning from a trip to the Singh Sahib Gurudwara............everyday I would walk past that Dahlia bush (placed arcadiously at the entrance of my apartment).......without noticing it.....or at the most.....just brushing by its reddish blue shade...........
But yesterday.....with an envisioned mind.....the Dahlia captured my senses.............Never before did it feel more heaven-bound and vivid...........I instantly turned on the camera.....and using a steady macro shot.....I caught this beautiful sensation!
Maybe it was that enlightening journey to the Gurudwara........that helped me notice and appreciate this wonderful CREATION of God!
It might be difficult for many (Athiests...:P) to gulp this statement down their throats....that GOD is the creator....then...Let me just put it in this way.......I thank that energy which can be constructive as well as destructive.....the energy that propelled the growth of this flora.....and everything in this universe.....LIVING...NONLIVING...TANGIBLE...INTANGIBLE....
At least...I believe that no one can deny this fact.......That ENERGY is the source as well as sink of everything!.................
I CALL THAT ENERGY.....GOD!
Such a belief, I believe can save this world from the mayhem that it is facing at the present.....and from the CATASTROPHE it awaits in the future...(2012 anyone?... ;)....)
BLESS US ALL! and Good day....(do leave your comments on the photograph...coz I really need them...Thanks and take care)
